The all-time favourite route, with one or two overnight stays. It is usually taken by rowing boat, sometimes by kayak or canoe. You start and finish your trip at Palūšė Boat House. You'll circle the 'Great Ring' of Aukštaitija National Park lakes and streams (about 28 km). At one section of this route (between Dringis and Baluošas lakes) we'll transport the travelers and their gear by land (about 1,5 km), and at Ginučiai village you'll have to carry your boats across the road (about 20 m). You'll find a small shop and a snack bar in Ginučiai. Ginučiai Water Mill is a 19th century technical monument and a small museum. On this route you can visit a 'lake within a lake' (a lake within an islet of Baluošas Lake), and if you climb Ladakalnis Hill, you will see a beautiful panoramic view of six lakes. You'll spend the nights at paid campsites that charge 2€ per tent + 1 € per person and are equipped with outdoor furniture, fireplaces and outdoor WCs. Many weekend tourists prefer this route since it can be completed in two or three days. You can also extend your itinerary up to 3 or 4 days and go another 30 kilometers along lakes and canals.
